2023 Scholarships Available!
Since 1988 the AFT 2026 Faculty and Staff Memorial Scholarship Fund has invested in our students’ futures while honoring our CCP colleagues who have died. Students can use a Memorial Scholarship award to pay for tuition, textbooks, or basic living expenses.
In order to be eligible, an applicant must be a current CCP student who:
has a demonstrated commitment to a social justice issue
has earned at least 30 college credits by January 1, 2023
holds a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
plans to continue studying at CCP or elsewhere in the 2023-2024 academic year
Social justice is a broad term. If you believe that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities, then you believe in social justice. If your studies, activism, or employment relate to creating more access and opportunity for everyone, then you are engaged in the work of social justice. Some examples of social justice issues include:
Racial justice Gender equality
LGBTQ+ rights Immigration and migrant justice
Educational equity Anti-violence work
Criminal justice reform Voting rights
Reproductive rights Public health
Climate change and climate justice
Food and housing insecurity
This year, the Memorial Scholarship Committee will award $7,500 in scholarships, with each award being at least $1,500.
Materials needed to apply:
A statement of purpose that shares your past and present involvement in social justice causes, your academic and career goals, and how a Memorial Scholarship will help you to meet those goals.

A letter of recommendation from one of your professors
